The members of St. Mark’s wanted a traditional Catholic sanctuary to seat 1,200. ADG prepared a master plan for their site in northwest Norman.
Included in the master plan is 37,000 square feet of space including the sanctuary, a 6,000-square-foot fellowship atrium, church offices, multipurpose classrooms, a 70-seat chapel, vestry and sacristy.
As part of the master plan, the existing church on the site became a multi-purpose building, serving the congregation’s needs for classrooms and fellowship space.
The intent of the design is to convey the spirit of the traditional Catholic mass within an atmosphere of warmth—in keeping with the idea of family.
Materials are brick and cast stone with a stained glass clerestory windows and ceramic tile flooring in the sancturary.
