The congregation of St. Luke United Methodist Church, located in downtown Oklahoma City, decided it was time to grow. They hired ADG to design a new church in the nearby suburb of Edmond. The multipurpose building was inspired by the contemporary design and rich finishes of the original.
ADG worked with church stakeholders on a master plan for a highly visible site along a busy interstate. The 41,000-square-foot first phase includes a worship hall with space to seat 700. A bookstore and coffee shop are focal points of the spacious lobby. The lobby doubles as a fellowship hall and dining area. Nearby is a daycare check-in and indoor play area, surrounded by Sunday school classrooms for children of all ages.
A large sanctuary, envisioned for phase two of the project, will be connected on the east with space for a classrooms, meeting space and a garden courtyard in between. The worship hall will become a multipurpose fellowship space once the sanctuary is complete.
