Anish Hotels hired ADG to design a new 10-story hotel on the most prominent intersection in Bricktown, Oklahoma City’s entertainment district. The project site is a small corner lot that was formerly a surface parking lot for one of the first office buildings created from one of the historic Bricktown red brick warehouses.
The design for the 182-room hotel marries a modern aesthetic with the traditional red brick vernacular of the surrounding warehouses and complies with the design guidelines established by the Bricktown Design Review Board as well as the strict standards set forth by the Marriott Hotel brand.
Marriott’s prototype for new Renaissance properties has evolved to appeal to the corporate business traveler who seeks luxury in a full-service hotel. The Marriott Renaissance aesthetic scheme places modern in a new light. It integrates contemporary styling with touches of luxury, creativity, and comfort.
The hotel will be located along a 2.3-mile streetcar loop that is expected to start rolling in 2018. The site is also within two blocks of the Chesapeake Energy Arena where concerts and Thunder basketball games keep the entertainment district abuzz with tourists and activity. The Renaissance will include a luxurious lounge and an upscale restaurant and bar on the ground floor, meeting rooms, fitness center and support spaces on the floor above and guest rooms on the remaining eight upper floors.
The Renaissance Bricktown is brick and concrete construction with window system that is both glass curtain wall and storefront. Construction is scheduled to being in fall 2017.
