ADG designed a 23,000-square-foot addition linking Casady School’s two existing gym buildings. The connector building also serves as a welcoming gateway at the main campus entrance.
The bow-shaped western facade is in the tradition of many Ivy League universities through-out the country. The building creates a much-needed link between the 1955 girl’s gym and the 1965 boy’s gym, housing new locker rooms, concessions, classrooms, administrative offices, aerobics studio, weight room and a trophy gallery. Building materials are red brick and cast stone.
The lobby at the heart of the Bennett Center is much more than a lobby decorated with trophies. It showcases Casady’s athletic heritage and team spirit. Visiting and home team fans congregate in the lobby before and after games against a backdrop filled with past Cyclones victories. What was once a muddy courtyard area is now a welcoming entry that packed with team spaces and fan amenities.
