ADG, Inc. designed a one-story wood frame assisted living center to house 44 seniors in studio and one-bedroom apartments. All rooms are handicapped accessible. In addition, the center offers a memory care unit with a capacity for 14 residents.
The 40,000-square-foot center is fronted with a large porte cochère under which residents and visitors are welcomed into the elegant lobby and reception area. Beyond are service areas, including reception, mailboxes hidden just off the main entry and two small sitting areas clustered around a central fireplace and skylight.
Natural light streams into the living room and dining room through large skylights, adding a sense of drama and height to the one-story space to create an open, bright atmosphere for the commons area and central gathering space. A private dining area for family dinners and special events is adjacent to the main dining room. There is also a beauty salon, spa, activity area and screening room for movie nights clustered near the dining area.
Many units face landscaped interior courtyard. A brick exterior and pitched roof match the residential theme created on the interior. A domed cupola at the entrance identifies the Arbor House brand.
