Newcrest Image hired ADG to design two new hotels at the east end Bricktown, Oklahoma City’s entertainment district. The project site is located at the west end of a mixed-use residential community that was once a steel manufacturing plan called the Steelyard. The AC Hotel and Hyatt Bricktown will have a contemporary aesthetic while respecting the surrounding red brick warehouse district and complying with the strict design guidelines established by the Bricktown Design Review Board as well as the strict guidance of the Marriott Hotel brand standards.
Within a one-square-block area, designers were able to fit two five-story hotels—a 142-room AC Hotel complete with European-inspired quest rooms, a breakfast dining room, a lounge with a local flair, meeting rooms and a fitness center as well as a 134-room, Hyatt Place Hotel that includes meeting facilities, a breakfast buffet, fitness center and a indoor pool.
The Hyatt Place Hotel is wood-frame construction with brick veneer, glass storefront and curtain wall systems, aluminum windows and composite metal panels. The AC Hotel uses modular construction with the goal of speeding market delivery. Construction began in June 2016.
