Dean A. McGee Eye Institute

ADG won a design competition for the expansion of the Dean A. McGee Eye Institute on the OU Medical Center campus. A new 75,000-square-foot Vision Sciences Center building will be added to the north and the northeast of the current facility. A four-story metallic clad atrium is oriented towards the corner and acts as the central reception area for the entire building. The lobby at the atrium’s interior is protected from the western sun by a floating tinted glass sunshade­—a distinctive feature of the design.
